Hooton Park Show - WADARC Club Stand & HF Station

Sunday 25th Sept. 2005 saw an amazing number of Club members supporting the event down at Hooton Park from 8am (or very soon after).  It was important to have the station set-up ready for the public who were allowed in from 10am. With the added luxury of superb weather, the station was put together in expert style with the club's 3 element HF beam on the top of a 40' tower kindly supplied by Raynet, who also took the opportunity to show off their splendid  mobile HQ.

The station created lots of interest and we hope perhaps a handful of new members may follow.  There was a contest on 20m during the morning, but despite the band conditions not being good due to the 11 year solar cycle plus vigorous sunspot activity, we did manage a good contact across the pond with many more on all the bands we tried.  The equipment worked well, and thanks go to everyone for making it such an enjoyable day.
