The D&W (Drink & Waffle) is an opportunity to meet with like minded people to ask questions about amateur radio and discuss the latest trends in electronics and communications in general in a friendly and convivial atmosphere. Many of which are often still in research or development stage.

They regularly prove most interesting and rewarding to those who attend.  If you are interested, there is an open invitation waiting for you to accept.  It is an especially suitable forum to anyone thinking of Amateur Radio as a hobby whatever your age or background and you will be made most welcome.

Always check the website regularly for the latest information and any changes to our programme. Meeting just after 9pm

Calendar Dates for May, June & July 2023

Change to Our meeting Policy

For many decades we have followed a Club Policy of meeting for a Club Talk on the 2nd & 4th Wednesday of each month, while for the 1st, 3rd plus 5th Wednesday on some months, we meet up at a different public house on Wirral for what we call a D & W (Drink & Waffle). (Preferably with no music or Quiz so we gather around a table and chat easily).

This has worked well integrating DF Hunts and a BBQ into our summer evening schedule as generally Irby Cricket Club did not require use of their premises on Wednesday evenings and so we both enjoyed full use of their facilities.

This year, unfortunately, things have changed slightly.  We find that for the first time Irby Cricket Club are active in a new league which requires they play a handful of matches at home on a Wednesday evening during the summer months.

With ICC being such an ideal location for our hobby, we are going to experiment by changing our Club Nights to fit in with  each others needs where possible and our original policy therefore may no longer follow, although it will stay pretty close.

Our calendar will continue to be sent out regularly by email to all club members by Simon our Secretary and also as full a calendar as possible displayed here on our club website for advanced notice.

We apologise for this change to our routine which is clearly beyond our control. Your committee is working with Irby CC in an effort that we can all share the excellent facilities to the full.  Our thanks to you for your cooperation.
